05/21/2016 – The Lakes

I am overcome with awe and gratitude at the outpouring of love and support! Everyone is so amazing! Thank you. Thank you. I departed May 18th and traversed a series of truly spectacular lakes (in a variety of conditions, i might add:), which finally brought me back to Whitehorse. I will set out again in the morning. I have 1 more 30 mile lake crossing, Lake Laberge, and from there I will look forward to the current of the Yukon River! Robert Service wrote a poem about Lake Laberge called “The Cremation of Sam McGee”. It is one of my favorites. If you do not know it, I encourage you to look it up. I hope to be in Dawson City in 15-17 days!
